When should you teach the baby to BBQ?

We've been informed that we aren't posting nearly enough pictures, so I convinced Andrea to take the monkey outside for a quick photoshoot. Most of the pictures didn't turn out very well -- Thomas is a natural at making atrocious faces at the camera, it's straight out of Calvin & Hobbes -- but this one amused me. It almost looks like Thomas is being taught how to BBQ. (He's not. Just in case anyone's worried.)

5 Months Old!

Happy 5 month birthday, Thomas!

He doesn't get to eat cake, but he has had some rice cereal this week. He enjoys opening his mouth wide and getting the cereal into his mouth, then there is only about a 50% chance he will swallow it. He greatly enjoys closing his lips up tight and squshing the cereal out with his tongue. Oh well, as long as he's having fun...

Delightful faces!

Our baby is incredibly excited! But what about...?

Ah, that's it! He's found his bottom lip! What a fun and exciting discovery!

Tommy's mommy makes an appearance

We have a few pictures of me holding Thomas, but very few where Andrea lets me include her face in the picture, so I forced her to stand still for a minute last week so I could take her picture to prove that yes, she is still alive (although very, very tired).

Our baby is a geek

We have proof that our baby is doomed to a life of geekhood. Barely four months old and already he's playing his first video game. On the plus side, geeks tend to pull in decent salaries so at least he won't be poor.

Four months old

Tommy has now surpassed the 4 month mark. He is about 15.5 pounds and 25 inches long.
There are to be no comments regarding his ability to sleep through the night because every time I mention that he has, he promptly stops sleeping. Last night he definitely did not sleep through the night. He slept for about 3 hours and then decided to keep me up for the rest of the night. Maybe since I commented on it he will not do it again, but I suspect that the tendancy to stop doing what I comment on only extends to good things, not bad.

The first picture here is tonight's post bath photo. He was not happy with me since he doen't like having moisturizers put on him and he is now getting a medicated one to combat his eczema. It does not thrill him, but it seems to be doing the trick and we should be able to go back to normal moisturizers soon.

He is sitting up and playing now - with some assistance. If I just sit him up, he tends to slowly topple over if there isn't anything to lean on. At least he is able to grab things and amuse himself for a while.
